Bruised Fancy

This blog gives me a place to comment on things which strike my fancy, hence the title. Topics may include computer software/hardware, science, space, beer, books/movies/television programs of a geeky nature, or almost anything else. It is not marked as containing adult content but be warned that I occasionally post about beer and sometimes forget to watch my language. I've been writing systems software since the days of core memory, paper tape, and front panel lights/switches.

Readability rating

I think the rating should be more like "Evil Genius". It must be all my posts about obscure Unix commands, eh?

Gee, my blog came out as "elementary-school level". I look on it as an affirmation of my commitment to clear writing, rather than a commentary on its intellectual rigor....

I'm not proud of the complexity rating assigned. I really think it's because I tend write fairly frequently about technical topics. I'd guess they assign a higher rating to your blog if it contains terminology which doesn't appear in normal dictionaries.

BTW, I can never look at the word "rigor" without thinking of Peter Cooke's Miner sketch coming to mind. British comedy has warped my poor delicate mind.
